Alpheaus Marcus is the CEO of A.M.X. Consultants a consulting firm that specializes in the political agendas of the urban community. He created A.M.X. Consultants from his work within the urban communities as a community advocate identifying how poverty, housing, and political neglect have been the root causes of both crime and the social inequalities of this affected community.

As a community advocate Mr. Marcus has helped countless families affected by the issues of the lack of social inclusions as follows:

·      Gang and Gun Violence.

·      Inequalities of Education.

·      Issues of horrendous living conditions within NYCHA.

·      Police relationships within the Black Communities.

Mr. Marcus has utilized his relationship with both elected officials and the media to get the necessary attentions to address the issues within the urban communities so that community could have a voice.

Mr. Marcus was born and raised in Harlem where he like many within his community became a product of his environment. Watching both of his parents succumb to drug addictions and having to help raise his siblings with his grandmother he understood the struggles of giving up hope in voting and becoming numb to the everyday struggles of life in the urban communities.

Mr. Marcus has run for both state assembly and city council raising the awareness of the issues and agendas of the community to force change in how the Black Communities have continued to have a backseat to others’ agendas while sacrificing their own. His work within the community has allowed him to have access as well as a platform to advise and assist the urban communities. From helping establish for profit and not for profits, to advising small business owners on ways to enhance their business capacity through strategic and innovative means for success above their competitors.

Mr. Marcus began advocating for a community that systemically was disproportionately served and underrepresented. He has been a strong advocate for restoring the relationship between the NYPD and the black communities throughout the city. Understanding the conditions affecting the urban communities and the need for various services, Mr. Marcus formed A.M.X. Consultants Services. Its primary focus is to assess and advise a strategic, and comprehensive means to address the issues with innovative solutions to the problems affecting the urban communities politically.

With a concentration in policies and law, he has served as an instrumental component in advising and the establishment of programs within the NYPD based on the agendas for the re-establishment of the relationship between the black communities and the NYPD. In 2015, he sat with the administrative leadership within the NYPD to establish the NCO Program. He would later 2016 advise on the implementation and the plan for the NYPD’s Build the Block Program. Understanding that the problems between the black communities and the NYPD were still important to become consistently effective, he began talks with current NYPD leadership to help turn the much-needed direction of the NYPD through effective Community Affairs initiatives.

Mr. Marcus has identified issues within the NYC Public School system and has sat with both former special assistants to the former school chancellor Richard Carranza to collaborate on the necessity to begin desegregating the very much-needed school system here in New York. This system has been instrumental in its agendas to deprive children of the urban community’s equalities of education that has systemically fed the “public school to prison pipeline”. He has begun involving state lawmakers in pushing for a law that would ultimately end the systemic practices of racial discrimination against children of the Black Communities within the state's educational system.

Since 2016, when he and other advocates took the media throughout the city’s 302 NYCHA developments to show the deplorable conditions that the city’s nearly 600,000 residents were subjected to reside in and became a strong advocate for the residents. Still today Mr. Marcus has maintained a close relationship with the chairman of NYCHA which has afforded him a direct means of getting residents throughout the city the necessary repairs needed for safe and more livable conditions.

Mr. Marcus has utilized his relationship with both state and local elected officials to address the issues of concern from the increase in homelessness, to the issues of gun violence, which has compromised the public safety of the community. He has been a strong advocate for the expansion of charter schools and parents choice of education for the betterment of education of the children affected by traditional educational platforms. He has furthered his platform with the relationship he has established with news media to enforce the concerns and needs to address the issues.

Mr. Marcus currently is working on an initiative to create a vocational trade school that would disrupt the communities youths who engage in both gang and gun violence. By providing them with the necessary skills to become productive within their communities as opposed to being a product of their social environment plagued by poverty and a continued segregated school system.
